Police are appealing for information, witnesses and dash cam footage following a fatal collision between Shenley and London Colney. Two people died in the collision which occurred in Shenleybury at around 8.15pm on Sunday (18 January). Four vehicles were involved – a black Vauxhall Astra, a silver Mercedes Vito, a silver Toyota Yaris and a black Hyundai i30. The Astra and the Yaris were both in collision and sadly both drivers died at the scene. The driver of the Hyundai – a 27 year old man – has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, driving whilst over the prescribed limit for drugs and failing to stop. He has been bailed while enquiries continue. Detective Sergeant Ben Heath, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Firstly, my thoughts are with the loved ones of the two men who have lost their lives in this collision. We have specially trained officers supporting them. “We are trying to piece together what has happened. If you were in the area and saw any of these cars, please get in touch. If you were driving with a dash cam please check it and get in touch if you spot the vehicles or something that might help our enquiries. “If you have any information at all, please get in touch at sciuenq@bch.police.uk.” You can also report information online at herts.police.uk/report, speak to an operator in our Force Communications Room via our online web chat at herts.police.uk/contact or call the non-emergency number 101, quoting ISR 586 of 18 January.
